Saudalgia III
The guitar and the bandoneon have been left behind as have the sorongo and the frevo. Everything is a memory because it’s a matter of evoking the remains as memories. As the poet said, a whole country, two countries actually, in this piece full of those countries.
There are three steps: The first one is slow, melancholic, dense. It’s the Argentine step. A dance step. A tango step. The second one is fast, explosive, made of shots, brevity and jumps. A dance step, too, but from another dance, from another kind of melancholy because that's (always) what it's about. And then the third step, that of integration, variation and transformation. It’s slow and fast, dense and light, that step of saudade and nostalgia: saudalgia.
